October Running Challenge & swimming classes

October is almost over!  This months challenge was to walk or run or strogg 48 miles in the month of October.

As I have mentioned before, I am still a newbie runner, so no, I did not hit 48 miles, but! I ran more miles this month than I did in September.  :) Each month I am getting better and better. One of these months, I will run and hit the monthly goal.  Whatever it may be. It changes every month.  If you'd like to join, check out InstaGram account: hauseofgirls_fitfamily

Last month (September) I ran 20.44 miles.  This month I have passed that and am currently at 26.44 miles!  I am proud of myself.  Each run I notice I am getting stronger, able to run faster, and able to run longer.  I don't have a routine I follow.  I just mix it up myself.  I do love running intervals, so that's what I've been doing.  Excited for November!

My new babies.  My awesome Hubby bought these for me, so I have been using these all of October.  I love them.



 This was from this morning.  I run the little track at the gym.  28 laps = 1 mile.  I used to count but kept forgetting where I was at hahaha.  So I took a pedometer and my MapMyRun app and went a mile and saw how many steps I had.  About 2,000 steps is a mile for me.  So while on this little track, I only use my pedometer, because I don't get service to track my runs on MapMyRun.

I'd looooooove to get a fitness watch.  I think it would come in handy for me.  I'd love to know a little more in depth about my runs.  As far as...how long it has taken me, how far I've gone, and how many calories burned.  Psst, Santa!


Thursday, Gabby and I start our "Mommy and Me" swimming classes. I signed us up for  the fall classes.  I even found bathing suits for us...in October...on clearance. Cha-ching!  I'm excited for the classes, I hope Gabby enjoys!
